Twenty Ways With Words

We are new parents. For almost four months now, but we are still new at this. From communication to patience & everything in between, G. & I have been tested. We'll still be tested down the road as bebe M. reaches new milestones, but we're ready. Our friendship & marriage has been pushed & stretched in ways I never knew could be done. I've read it before & of course, our parents have shared down their own parenthood stories. But living it.. its a whole different arena. I won't lie & tell you some days haven't been rough. When G. & I come home tired from working & I'm emotionally exhausted from crying about leaving bebe M. everyday (I'm still getting used to this 'working mom' business). But let me tell you.. most of our days are fun, full of sweetness & a new learning experience. Now they are filled with bebe M.'s new sense of wonder & end with his giggles & hugs. He's on a schedule now so when he's off to bed, we've made it "us" time. We've learned to do little things together like the dishes (I wash, he rinses) & eating a small dinner before bed on our island with no TV on. Just us. And we talk & plan & dream about our future days, weeks, months. It is nice to know that even when we don't know what the heck we're doing most of the time, we always find a way to work it out. We're best friends because we drive each other crazy sometimes & laugh so hard about it later; its because we want the best for one another. For our little family. We've grown so much in such a short time. We understand each other now. It's silly, but that's just how it is. And I adore him. "Us". We are new parents. Can you believe that?
