Easy + Kid Friendly Apple Crisp

Fall is finally here friends! Its my favorite time of the year & also, favorite time to start new traditions with our little ones & bring in the holidays. I truly enjoy getting Maximus involved when I'm cooking. So, I've been looking up some easy & yummy recipes to make with him all season long & I'm happy to share them with you. 

I made this tiny snippet on my phone, so forgive the quality. But I'm excited to start making real videos with him once my new camera arrives. It's going to be a fun season!

Apple Crisp

5 large apples (we tried the Jazz golden apples & they were SO sweet & delicious.)

Toppings:

1 cup rolled oats

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour (gluten free work well too)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup softened butter

 

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Peel, core, & slice apples. Place in pie plate.

Sprinkle a teaspoon or two of lemon juice on the apples & stir, to prevent browning. 

Mix oatmeal, brown sugar, flour & salt. Stir or cut in butter.

Distribute over sliced apples & bake at 350ºF for 45 minutes.

Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
