It's been quite some time since I've purchased or talked about anything related to cosmetics. Since summer has arrived, I wanted to get something that would compliment my new tan (LOL, so weird of me). For months I've been itching to try Nars. Not just because it looks pretty, but because of what it does for the skin. The older I get, the more I focus on what actually goes on my skin rather than how it looks. It makes me sound old, but it’s true! For almost three weeks now I’ve worn my fresh new makeup & can slowly see the improvements on my skin tone & texture.
My bag must haves:
- Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer – Broad Spectrum SPF 30: Absolutely perfect on any 'just hanging out' day or when I'm like crazy running errands & feel too lazy to put actual makeup on. It's extremely light & stays on all day. It isn't full coverage, so it's perfect for when I'm outside with the pups & still want to tan a little (hello, SPF 30!!).
- Radiant Creamy Concealer: If you, at all, have under eye dark circles like me, THIS will be your new best friend. I've never used concealer before & wasn't too thrilled about purchasing it until I tried it at the store. I was immediately sold & in love with how my eyes looked. I also started placing little dots in smaller dark spots & can see them getting lighter as the weeks go by. I am definitely thrilled with this little magic stick & definitely recommend it.
- Powder Foundation: For a more serious & put together face. I've always preferred powder to liquid. My face is naturally oily, so it's nice that this lightweight powder sort of blends in perfectly with my skin. Nothing worse than looking oily & greasy on summer days. Another added bonus, it has SPF 12 & PA++ (WOOH!)
- Blush: And of course, some slightly colored cheeks. I wear this with the tinted moisturizer (if I want to look a bit cute while running around the market) and powder foundation. Because it's light, it leaves my cheeks looking naturally sun kissed. Perfect!
I have also been sort of drooling over the Naked Palette by Urban Decay since it became famous on Tumblr. I'm pretty basic when it comes to eye color, so a nude palette is perfect! I won't go into review mode since I'm sure you all know the entire rave about it. But I will say, it's probably the best palette I've ever owned & worth every single penny.
When it comes to nails, I only wear black, gray or nudes. This summer I wanted to add a little more shimmer & went for a champagne sort of color. Because Sephora is getting rid of their nail collection by OPI, I had to stock up. I was introduced to Wild About Shimmer. A kind of pinkish/gold almost nude color. It's beautiful, simple & looks great on my new tan hands & toes.
